This is a part-time appointment teaching at the Federal Correctional Complex-Beaumont and in Stiles and Gist State prisons as needed. The successful applicant must be capable of meeting and maintaining clearance requirements of the FCC-Beaumont and Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Job Summary:
Instructor reports to the Director of the Correctional Education Program. The instructor will be responsible for providing instruction for the Inmate Education Program. Duties and responsibilities include providing classroom instruction in philosophy classes using face-to-face delivery, using leadership in the implementation of curriculum. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be able to meet and maintaining clearance requirements of the FCC-Beaumont and Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in philosophy or a closely related field. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, speak, listen, and see. The employee is occasionally required to sit, lift, push, pull and carry objects.
Occasional travel required. Valid Texas Drivers License is required.
Working Conditions: Normal classroom setting. Some hazardous conditions may exist.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in philosophy degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Ability to understand the teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process. Ability to deal with students, faculty, and staff members in professional manner. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments.

$2,200 per class per semester
