The Peel Compton Foundation is a premiere and growing nonprofit organization, located in Bentonville, AR seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as the Director of Rentals & Marketing. The Peel Compton Foundation owns and operates the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden, Compton Gardens & Arboretum, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, and Osage Park. The uniting mission for these diverse properties is to connect the community through nature, education, recreation, and preservation. The Peel Compton Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

About the Position:

You will join a professional team, partner with the Site Manager to drive operational excellence and support the long-term site development. You will play a critical role in the daily operations of the Botanical Garden and Museum as the second in command to the site manager.

What you’ll be doing

• Assist leading and executing the day-to-day operations and maintenance at Peel Museum & Botanical Garden.
• Work with the Site Manager and crew to accomplish goals and take initiative to keep projects and tasks always moving forward.
• Operate as second in command and fill in duties of Site Manager.

Operations:

• Maintain appearance of the Peel Botanical Garden grounds. This includes maintaining garden spaces, sidewalks, ponds, fountains, irrigation system, mowing, edging, weed eating, weeding, planting, pruning, disbudding, trimming perennials, and operating small engine machinery e.g., blowers, lawnmowers, hedge trimmers.
• Maintain appearance of Peel Museum. This includes but is not limited to conducting inventory checks, managing special event tasks, changing air filters, repairing small marks on walls or floors, changing light bulbs, painting, cleaning windows, mopping and vacuuming when necessary. All with consideration to historical preservation of the museum.
• Assist with Greenhouse tasks and general maintenance as needed.
• Address visitor requests and emergencies in a prompt and professional manner.
• Complete repetitive tasks outdoors in variable weather conditions I.e., rain, snow, cold temperatures, high heat and humidity.
• Provide set-up, tear-down and clean-up as related to special events and rentals.
• Occasional weekend work and PCF fundraisers are required throughout the year.
• Salaried, full-time position with paid benefits.

Who we are seeking:

• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in horticulture or related field or bachelor’s degree in plant science or related field.
• Facilities maintenance experience required
• Experience in grounds keeping, horticulture, landscaping, turf grass management, arboriculture, botany and other related fields highly encouraged
• Exceptional customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools, operate standard passenger vehicle.
• Adept at using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
• Successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Candidate must pass a drug test and criminal background check.
