SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Quickly and kindly welcomes all customers, vendors, and team members
• Provides superior customer service at every point of interaction
• Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages, such as, espresso drinks, blended coffees, and teas
• Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functionality, communicating any malfunctions immediately to the Store Lead
• Cleans and/or sanitizes work areas, utensils, or equipment, and service and customer seating areas
• Describes menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them
• Provides customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions as requested
• Serves prepared foods, such as pastries, bagels, packaged goods, etc.
• Receives and processes customer payments
• Stocks customers service stations with paper products or beverage preparation items
• Demonstrates the use of retail equipment, such as espresso machines
• Sets up or restocks product displays
• Wraps, labels, and dates food items for sale
• Be an outstanding and supportive coworker to your fellow baristas
• Other related duties as assigned

• Excels in positive, professional, and friendly communication
• Ability to focus on customer satisfaction
• Practices basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handline hot beverages
• Efficient and well-organized
• Ability to create and foster positive relationships with customers and team members
• Takes pride in maintaining a clean working environment
• Ability to self manage during down times with little or no direction

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Constant standing/walking, up to 8 hours at a time
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crawling
• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional ascending or descending on ladders and ramps
• Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing, or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine
• Constantly receiving detailed information through oral communication
• Constant clarity of vision at near and/or far distances
• Constant cash handling requiring mental math
• Constant talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of verbal communication

Employees who complete 1,000 hours within a consecutive 12-month service requirement and have attainment of age 21, are eligible for 401(K) participation.

Employees who average 30+/hours per week over a 12-month measurement period are considered full-time employees, making them eligible for health insurance and life insurance options.
