As a Commercial HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Technician you will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing HVAC systems in commercial buildings. Your primary responsibilities revolve around ensuring that heating and cooling systems operate efficiently and effectively to provide a comfortable and safe indoor environment for occupants. This position is full time and you may be required to work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts, especially during peak seasons.

Job Summary: As a Commercial HVAC Technician you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial and industrial settings. You must possess a strong understanding of HVAC technology and systems to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation:
   • Install, replace, or upgrade commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, rooftop units, and ductwork.
   • Ensure installations comply with local building codes and regulations.
2. Maintenance and Repair:
   • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent system breakdowns and improve efficiency.
   • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues, including identifying faulty components and repairing or replacing them.
   • Clean and replace filters, coils, and other HVAC system parts.
   • Test and adjust system controls to maintain optimal performance.
3. Inspections:
   • Conduct system inspections to assess overall condition and identify potential problems.
   • Create detailed inspection reports and provide recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
4. Customer Service:
   • Interact with clients professionally, addressing their questions and concerns.
   • Provide cost estimates for repairs or installations and obtain necessary approvals.
5. Documentation:
   • Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities.
   • Complete service reports and paperwork for billing and record-keeping purposes.
6. Safety Compliance:
   • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
   • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures.
7. Continuing Education:
   • Stay updated on the latest HVAC industry trends, technologies, and regulations through training and professional development.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification or trade school training is preferred.
• Relevant HVAC experience, typically ranging from 2 to 5 years.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and controls.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with local HVAC codes and regulations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• EPA certification for handling refrigerants is often required.
