Job Summary and Qualifications
The Compliance Manager contributes to the organization’s mission and vision by planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, policies, and procedures across HCA Physician Services. This position serves as an integral role in the department by creating presentations, managing internal reviews, and managing time sensitive projects. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining overall subject matter and program expertise for all of Physician Services Ethics and Compliance. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of healthcare compliance, data management, communication techniques, project management, and ambulatory care operations. This position will ensure a standardized and consistent approach relating to Ethics and Compliance development, implementation, and adherence across the HCA Physician Services Group including potential operational impact to HCA Physician Services Group. This position will maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding all work matters, and fully comply with all legal and ethical obligations, the Company Code of Conduct, and the Code of Ethics for Healthcare Compliance Professionals adopted by the Health Care Compliance
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct case management to ensure resolution of concerns reported to the PSG Ethics and Compliance Department.
Develop and implement proactive strategies to integrate ethics and compliance changes, updates, and additions into operational work streams.
Manage the Conflict of Interest process for all providers on a new hire and annual basis.
Manage the process of developing, coordinating and conducting regulatory and compliance educational programs (i.e. orientation, annual required and ongoing training).
Create and provide guidance to Physician Services entities regarding established division-wide compliance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and other governmental requirements as appropriate.
Manage the process of summaries and Q&A documents for monthly compliance calls.
Responsible for creation of new tools/resources as a result of managing different communication methods (i.e. centralized mailbox, calls, etc.).
Prepare responses to inquiries and reportable issues that include guidance from best practices, corporate resources, policies, research, and past experience.
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the quarterly Department Dashboard for Group and Senior Executive leadership.
Responsible for statistics for Group(s) and Executive Leadership (trending data, change in patterns, identifying areas for education, recognition of efforts in various Divisions).
Other duties as assigned.
Candidates for this position will have the following skills and attributes coming in:
Strong interpersonal communications (verbal and writing) required, along with highly effective organization skills.
Ability to create and deliver effective presentations.
Proven track record of advanced analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to quickly draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Advanced computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Sharepoint.
Must be an analytical thinker with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and recommend appropriate plans of action.
Demonstrate the ability to interact, build and foster strong positive working relationships with effective diplomacy skills with teammates, leadership, business partners, stakeholders, and clinicians at all levels throughout HCA Physician Services including senior management; this is a high profile and fast paced team.
Ability to excel in an environment of discovery and uncertainty. This program is highly dependent upon regulations and changes issued by the government or the Corporate offices and these can be unpredictable.
Management of multiple on going projects and preparation of presentations of findings and recommendations.
Ability to perform work, special assignments, and tasks under general supervision.
Ability to work under pressure with the flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
Strong skills in planning, organizing, and project management with the ability to drive projects and decisions to conclusion.
Demonstrate skills in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving, and decision-making.
Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports.
Personal values in line with HCA’s Code of Conduct and Mission.
Minimal travel may be required.
Healthstream experience preferred.
May have supervisory responsibilities.
Education & Experience
5+ years of healthcare compliance/healthcare experience
Physician practice management experience strongly desired
Bachelors degree
1+ years of Management experience
