Requirements

• At least 2-3 years of experience in heavy equipment repair
• At least 2-3 years of hydraulic experience
• CASE equipment experience preferred
• MSHA 46/48 qualification is a plus
• Welding skills are helpful but not required
• Computer skills are a must
• Perform routine maintenance on all lines of Case construction equipment. Installation of hydraulic kits and adding plumbing is a requirement. Knowledge of attachments such as hammers, processors, and shears. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. routinely. Diagnose electrical issues with CANBUS systems. Tier 4F knowledge is a plus.
• Be able to work Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, and some Saturdays. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment.

Tasks

• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies, such as transmissions and crawler heads, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes.
• Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Weld or solder broken parts and structural members using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.
• Research, order, and maintain parts inventory for services and repairs.
• Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment and keep equipment service records.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
• Assemble gear systems, and align frames and gears.
• Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent.
• Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices.
• Fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metal.
• Direct workers who are assembling or disassembling equipment or cleaning parts.

Knowledge

• Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Computers and Electronics – Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Mathematics – Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
• Public Safety and Security – Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations to protect people, data, property, and institutions.
