You’ll join a team of dedicated professionals who are shaping the stories about how our employees are pioneering the future and reimagining technologies that are defining what’s possible for the next generation.This position is based in Falls Church, VA and will report to the Aeronautics Systems Communications Leader.The successful executive will be a strategic, proactive risk-taker who knows how to navigate complex and complicated environments. They will build and execute strategic and proactive PR programs and a strategic community engagement communications strategy across media, PR and influencer spaces to position our programs, people and company in multiple markets.This person will be a key company spokesperson representing the Aeronautics Systems sector. They will maintain relationships with reporters and editors, industry leaders, influencers, and other media partners, external stakeholder and key customer public affairs officers. This person will lead, in partnership with other communications leaders, the messages, stories and initiatives to promote and publicize the sector’s and company’s culture, people, products and performance. They will expand awareness of the company brand a reputation as a leader in aerospace, research, technology, engineering and innovation.Additional Responsibilities:
Build and execute strategic and proactive PR programs and strategic community engagement communications strategy across media, PR and influencer spaces to position NG in multiple markets
Align PR strategies with business milestones and work in close partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure timelines and deliverables meet the needs of the business.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities.
Develop media narrative aligned to business strategies
Ensure effective messaging and materials: pitches, press releases, media training and briefings
Build and elevate external profiles for senior leaders and lead external speaking opportunities to drive visibility and thought leadership
Partner with Corporate Director, Media and Public Relations
Partner with Corporate Director, Media Operations
Stay informed on industry news and flag issues and trends for leaders
Lead, mentor and develop PR professionals across company
Minimum of 10 years of experience in media relations, communications, public relations or public affairs for a medium- to large-sized organization
Experience leading people
Demonstrated knowledge in the developing, deploying and activating media & communication campaigns with measurable business impact
Demonstrated knowledge in developing strategic and tactical communication plans
Proven ability to lead, develop, and coach others to develop and execute projects plans and campaigns.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Demonstrated success understanding and navigating complex, global organizations
Track record of delivering media coverage and demonstrated strong relationships with PR agency and media agency partners
Demonstrated the willingness to take calculated risks and explore new ways and approaches to connect with audiences
Experience developing productive relationships with executives
Experience in technology, aerospace, defense or other science-related business or government field
Demonstrates sound judgement in decision making and leadership actions with capabilities to drive change through creative and/or other disruptive methods, ideas & approaches.
Salary Range: 1 – 1
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
