WhoWhatWhy
Election Integrity Reporter (Volunteer)
Note: The following is an opportunity for flexible, part-time, VOLUNTEER work. This is a work-at-home position and we are hiring in multiple locations.
Are you obsessed with and fairly expert in issues surrounding American democracy and the state of US elections? Are you familiar with the impact of the Citizens United and Shelby County Supreme Court decisions? Are you concerned that not all voters are considered equal and that casting a ballot for many Americans involves overcoming many obstacles? Do you know how to find and work sources and put together a compelling read that connects with a savvy component of the reading public? Our quality-conscious, non-partisan, deeply questioning nonprofit news organization has an opportunity for someone looking to make a difference.
We put a major emphasis on covering the integrity of elections as well as the problems that currently plague US democracy. Our award-winning work in this area has been widely acknowledged by major media outlets.
We are looking to add a member to this highly successful team. Joining WhoWhatWhy will provide you with the chance to showcase your talents, and make your mark on a beat of national importance.

We are straight and to the point, we make clear that we’re looking for volunteers – skilled volunteers. We are a nonprofit that isn’t funded by a zillionaire and we decline to accept corporate advertising. We’re performing outsized work on a tiny budget. Because of this, we look for volunteers.
You will work remotely and on your own schedule. We also ask for a minimum commitment of 10-15 hours a week (though more is not discouraged!). Because our staff is spread throughout the world, we communicate mostly through Slack and email, and team members are requested to be highly responsive in a timely manner. If all this resonates with you, we’d like to hear from you!
To Apply
To apply, send your resume and a customized cover letter explaining why you’re a good fit for this position and confirming your understanding that this is a volunteer position.
We look forward to hearing from you!
