JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S
Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II
JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation’s war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today’s missions and tomorrow’s global challenges
JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Provides support to the engineering and design staff by performing a variety of more complex assignments during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications
• Installs, monitors, and services equipment and systems at the company and client sites
• Performs test and evaluation, check-out, and certification tasks; performs validations/verifications of various electronic systems
• Reviews Engineering Change Proposals for equipment impacts
• Assists in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions
• Develops technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical drawing updates, operating procedures, maintainability improvements, and test reports
• Supports systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise
• Assists in training others in the operation and performance of systems
• Plans and coordinates work of other engineering technicians and related positions
• Establishes and maintains filing systems, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory
• Assists work unit personnel as the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed
• Provides technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements
• Supports engineers in the development of technical proposal and provides comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work
• Uses established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence
• Performs related work as required
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION The candidate should have an understanding of Telemetry systems and understand signal flow of Telemetry acquisition/transport systems
The job duties include, but are not limited to specializing in Telemetry for real-time operations, data transport systems, and network systems under general technical guidance
Real-time support duties include establishing end-to-end connectivity with pre-mission checks for voice, video, and data
Monitoring real-time missions for abnormalities and correcting real-time issues as they arise
It is recommended that they understand how to use equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, telemetry receivers, video distribution amplifiers, etc
They must have an understanding of local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), also must possess knowledge of transport and networking equipment associated with data transport
Recommended that they understand various types of data transmission equipment such as fiber optics, twisted pair and RF cable
Recommended to understand engineering drawings and be able to use drawings to install and alter equipment configurations
Recommended that they have the ability to terminate various types of RF and other copper based cabling
They must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and make decisions in pressure situations
Must be comfortable working with Excel, word and other various software that may be applicable
The candidate must be able to work overtime, including weekends as well as different shifts to accommodate various mission support objectives
Candidate will need to perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in accordance with established procedures (Local Work Cards), operating procedures, tech manuals, and other official documentation
Creating trouble tickets and using Maximo to track work performed as required
Regular interfacing and communicating with the customers through email, phone, and face-to-face meetings
The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to the Secret level with SAP access
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE The incumbent must have vocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution or military equivalent training and at least 5 years of job-related experience
The incumbent must possess good communication and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines
The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver’s license
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
Must be a U.S
citizen
SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $50,273 to $64,000 annually

WORKING CONDITIONS
Most positions involve work typical of office environment with no unusual hazards
There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness
Frequent travel to remote Company work locations may be required
