IT Business Analyst (Volunteer)

Are you a person with strong business acumen and exceptional critical thinking that you employ to turn data insights into strategic action? Are you interested in learning the ins and outs of a nonprofit organization in a challenging and rewarding environment? Do you constantly ask questions about how to use analytics to improve the business? The nonprofit news organization WhoWhatWhy is looking for a business analyst to become part of a team to find ways to accelerate and optimize our growth.
The ideal candidate must be an adaptable self-starter and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. This person would have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision demonstrating initiative, organizational skills, time management, and precise attention to detail.

You will work remotely and on your own schedule, as we believe remote work is essential to cultivate a productive and engaged culture. We also require a minimum commitment of 5-8 hours a week. Because our staff is spread throughout the world, we communicate mostly through email. All staff is required to respond to emails on a daily basis. This is a work-at-home position.
The Business Analyst will research, present, and implement actionable insights to the business. This position requires a high level of leadership, analysis, relationship management, and multi-tasking. The analyst will also help to build out an analytics platform and to model critical aspects of the business like creating awareness, engagement, and retention.
