Empower is looking for an experienced Lead Network Systems Administrator to support IT operations in our datacenters and cloud infrastructures. In this role you will be responsible for the scoping, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring and documentation of server, storage and cloud infrastructure. You will also assist the Director of IT in managing the day to day tasks, monitoring system administrator SLA’s and monitoring and leading the team on service uptime for our IT Infrastructure.

You will be in charge of maintaining many different systems, so the ability to multitask and prioritize, work under deadline , and provide excellent customer service to users will be key qualities. The right individual is detail-oriented, possesses solid technical skills, and is dedicated to maintaining up-to-date documentation. You should be the type of individual who is focused on providing solutions to problems instead of simple fixes. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation enterprise infrastructure systems , AWS technologies and production operations done at scale in a multi-site environment. The candidate will have had extensive hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems , Office365, AWS, networking, security, EC2, IAM and S3 , Containers, CommVault , Netapp and Ansible automation.

What you will do:

• Evaluate changes to the environment to reduce risk to business services, proper process and policy adherence.
• Assist in the planning and response of IT Operational incidents and tasks.

• Lead IT Operation problem management process; Identify owners, drive root cause identification, ensure timely resolution, evaluate operational changes to reduce recurrence.
• Contributes in technical planning, discussion, tasks and design; Aligns priority and risk rating for the long term success of the department and business.
• Participate in articulating, defining and collaborating in defining project and task requirements. Ensuring stakeholders are confirming the accuracy of requirements.
• Train and mentor junior level staff to more effectively respond to end user issues .
• Network design, troubleshooting and monitoring through switch, routing and firewall infrastructure

• Deploying, patching and the ongoing administration of Windows & Linux infrastructure
• Maintain SSO infrastructure including addition of new SaaS applications
• Planning, design and implementation of redundant and highly available applications and services.
• Ensure backup of systems, applications, configurations and storage systems.
• Design, implement and maintain monitoring systems for servers and devices

• Monitor and optimize server and application performance.
• Production of policy and procedure documents to support compliance, security and operational efficiency
• Automate systems management through creative scripting and toolsets
• Advise on utilization and recommend changes when necessary
• Maintain vendor relationships and maintenance contracts for responsible systems and services

• Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for Personal Capital to take advantage of new technology

What you will bring:

• 8+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator over a wide variety of systems
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills , with excellent follow up skills, and the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within the organization required .
• Experience writing project proposals and managing projects.

• Experience automating with tools or scripting ( e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python, Chef, Ansible)
• Experience integrating, securing and supporting SaaS platforms
• Track record of learning quickly and tackling new and technically complex problems with courage and tenacity
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing needs and requirements
• Must be detail-oriented and be an organized thinker who is service-minded with strong communication & customer service skills

• Ability to work required shifts including weekend, evening, and on-call as necessary required.

Base Salary Range

$99,600.00 – $140,700.00
The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
