Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector is seeking a manager of Employee, Functional and Leadership Communications who is confident in being a strategic advisor, thinks outside the “lets send an e-mail” box, thrives on the challenge of telling compelling stories, and constantly seeks to improve through disciplined measurement, analysis and adjustment. This person hired will sit at our Dulles, VA location. This role does allow for some occasional/part-time teleworking. You’ll be a great fit if you:

Have excellent writing skills, and are passionate about telling inspirational stories via articles, interviews, Q&As, brief/catchy lists, infographics, social content, videos, animations, and photo/caption features. Ideally, you’ll bring some new ideas and formats we haven’t tried or thought of yet.
Have event planning experience – from virtual webcasts to in-person site visits, dinners and awards ceremonies.
You’re maybe a little bit (or a lot bit) of a nerd, and you love all things related to space exploration and science.
Familiarity with social tools, website content management systems, including SharePoint, the Adobe Suite of products is a plus, as is a basic understand of HTML.
In this job, you’ll:
Manage the planning, implementation and evaluation of employee, executive and recruiting-related communications strategies, plans and tactics.
Support our efforts to promote and publicize the company’s culture, people, products and performance to employees – current and future.
Drive our sector’s Employee, Functional and Leadership Communications efforts.
Support recruiting-related communications via both internal and external communications plans and tactics.
Help maintain president’s Speaking Opportunities calendar.
Write talking points, speeches, video scripts, employee announcements and executive summaries for sector’s president and other senior leaders.
Lead and/or support the coordination of executive events, including virtual and eventually in person webcasts, site visits, conferences and ceremonies.
Manage change management communications activities.
Be a storyteller – conceptualize, forage and produce a diverse array of inspirational content that supports our business goals and Communications objectives.
Ensure all communications strategies and tactics are consistent with the company’s strategic vision and reflect the Northrop Grumman brand.
Flexible work arrangements are permitted. Travel to Northrop Grumman’s Dulles, Virginia and nearby offices will be required periodically.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or closely related field and at least 8 years of communications, PR, or closely experience or a Master’s degree and 6 year of communications, PR, or closely experience
Experience writing talking points, speeches, and/or video scripts for leadership
Experience with Associated Press style guidelines is preferred.
