Your Role: You will be responsible for the supervision of the team supporting all aspects of employee payroll, and ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with government regulations.
Your work:
Establishes departmental goals and objectives that are strategically aligned with division’s overall vision and direction.
Establishes department performance standards and measures and ensures performance is achieved and maintained.
Manages departmental workload and costs to achieve efficient operations.
Develops policies and procedures related to payroll and ensures continuous process improvement objectives are achieved within the department to continually reduce operating expenses.
Manages operation and administration of the payroll department, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries and wages. Ensures Payroll is in compliance with Wage and Hour laws
Managerial responsibility, including performance plans/evaluations and delegated authority to hire, promote, discipline, terminate and recommend salary increases/actions for staff and supervisory employees.
Trains and educates staff members, employees and managers throughout the company as it relates to payroll processing.
Responds to, investigates and ensures appropriate resolution of questions/complaints from employees, pensioners or other sources regarding payroll-related issues.
Investigates the root-cause of errors and implements action plans to alleviate the problem from reoccurring.
Develops quality controls to ensure satisfactory results, thus growing employee happiness.
Required Experience, Education and Skills
Professional and supervisory experience in an accounting-related and/or business field (10-12 years preferred).
Minimum of 7 years supervisory experience in Payroll Operations in a mulit-state environment with various pay groups
Certified Payroll Professional
BS/BA in Business or Accounting
Detailed knowledge of legislation related to payroll, including wage and hour laws, tax laws and labor laws.
Possesses knowledge of all facets of the payroll operations to provide leadership and mentorship to all employees in the Payroll Department and recommend process improvement opportunities.
Knowledgeable of accounting procedures and concepts, including required interface between payroll and general ledger and other sources.
Knowledge of and ability to answer questions regarding information systems used in Payroll Department.

The national average salary range for this position is $109,000 -$121,000. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $98,000 – $145,000. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 15% of eligible pay.
