WhoWhatWhy
Managing Editor (Volunteer to Compensation)
Do you know how to assemble, manage, and motivate a crack team of journalists – to help them unearth and deliver ground breaking stories with stylish, compelling observation and writing? Would you like to be part of an up-and-coming, bold, creative, fun, friendly, idealistic, and highly motivated news organization producing eye-opening, honest journalism in the public interest?
If the answers are yes, then we would like to talk with you about joining WhoWhatWhy as part of a team of Managing Editors.
The role involves building and marshalling an extraordinary team of reporters and helping them break important stories.
Qualified candidates should possess a deep knowledge of national and international affairs and the sophistication to develop new angles on significant, often complex, policy, and developments.
It is crucial for you to have the source network, strategic abilities, energy, and motivational skills to drive our people to new heights of journalistic excellence.
At WhoWhatWhy, we approach each story with an open mind, boundless curiosity, and the drive to dig deep and ask hard questions, and keep asking them.
Because we are straight to the point, we want to make clear that we are looking for volunteers – skilled volunteers. We are a nonprofit that is not funded by a zillionaire, and we decline to accept corporate ads. But as we grow, and dependent on how much you are able to contribute to our success, we are open to discussing modest compensation.
If all this resonates with you, and you can commit to a minimum of 15 hours a week of volunteer work, working remotely, on your own schedule, with colleagues around the world, we would like to hear from you.

You will work remotely and on your own schedule, and we ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months for at least 15 hours a week.
Because our team is spread throughout the world, we rely mostly on a combination of Slack, email, and conference calls, and expect everyone to be highly responsive in a timely manner.
If you possess a high level of self-motivation, and work well independently but also have strong collaboration skills and enjoy the opportunity to partner with like-minded individuals, and can commit quality time per week on a regular basis to help achieve team goals, we would like to hear from you.
