What We Need: Seeking a part-time radio traffic anchor based in the Philadelphia market to deliver traffic reports to radio stations in multiple markets on the weekends. What You’ll Do: Anchor live or recorded traffic reports with latest incidents and traffic delays for multiple markets and clearly communicate fast changing traffic conditions in a concise logical manner. Utilize traffic gathering resources such as cameras, video, social media platforms, websites, emails, CADS, two-way radios, tip callers and a proprietary traffic database program to prioritize traffic information in preparation for on-air broadcast of traffic information. Deliver accurate and timely traffic reports according to schedule with commercial sponsorships individually to radio stations or as part of a network feed. Ensure and account for commercial sponsorships airing as scheduled with traffic reports Will require a flexible schedule with ability to work weekend shifts and Holidays What You’ll Need: Demonstrated strong experience in Microsoft Office application, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint Strong conversational on-air delivery a must with excellent pronunciation Excellent knowledge of Philadelphia and south Jersey roadways Adept at working in a fast-paced, deadline oriented, “newsroom-like” collaborative environment Excellent writing and editing skills; excellent grammar Good social media skills Strong attention to details, following up until issues are resolved Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi-task in a fast paced environment Understanding of police scanners is a plus Ability to work from home or on-site from studio Two (2) years of traffic reporting, news anchoring or previous experience as a host for a commercial radio station is strongly preferred.
