Kirkham Michael has an excellent career opportunity for a self-sufficient Professional Surveyor to be located in our Ellsworth or Cheney, Kansas office. This could be a full or part-time position. The candidate will work with Engineering Design Project Managers to collect field survey data in support of civil engineering design projects. Must be proficient with GPS and Total Station survey equipment as well as AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Field data collection for design surveys
• Topographical surveys
• Boundary surveys
• Section corner research and monumentation
• Plat reviews
• Drawing (MicroStation and AutoCAD) assignments to assist in development of projects
• Performs computations for surveys
• Maintain survey equipment
• Supervise survey technicians

Qualifications

• Professional Surveyor’s license in Kansas or ability to attain licensing through comity from another state.
• 5+ years of experience in design surveying
• Knowledge of and ability to apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of surveying.
• Independent and self-motivated
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Successful candidates will be articulate with professional presence, with solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills.
• Valid Driver’s License required
