Our client, an innovative mobile bicycle maintenance company and winner of the 2018 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, is currently seeking a part-time (Friday to Monday, 32hrs a week) Rider Support Technician. More than a bike mechanic, this role is the face of our client’s brand; someone who is constantly encouraging people to ride their bikes more, and the person making sure our company is presented at its best every day.Duties for a Rider Support Technician include managing a state-of-the-art Mobile Bike Shop, visiting riders at their home or work, servicing their bike(s), bike fits, making deliveries, attending, and supporting events, and doing your best to answer every question rider’s might have.Opportunities exist in San Francisco. Interested candidates must be resident in San Francisco and possess a clean driving record and background check.This is a part-time position (Friday to Monday, 32 hours a week) with the opportunity to move into a full-time role in October 2021.ResponsibilitiesPositively and joyfully engage all customers as their trusted cycling advisor and problem solver – this applies to all forms of communication, in person, email, over the phone, text, etc.Conduct general bicycle maintenance, assembly and delivery, personalized repair and/or parts and accessory installation as per customer specifications.Provide technical support for local cycling events and corporate accounts from time to time.Execute and report on all use of “non-scheduled time” used to market our services, partners, and capabilities.Maintain accurate record of all expenses.Miscellaneous tasks to support our business: gear inventory receiving/shipping, Mobile Bike Shop prep and cleanliness, etcOccasionally act as a delivery driver to build and deliver bikes.Provide technical support for local cycling events and corporate accounts from time to time.Execute and report on all use of “non-scheduled time” used to market our services, partners, and capabilities.Maintain accurate record of all expenses.Miscellaneous tasks to support our business: gear inventory receiving/shipping, Mobile Bike Shop prep and cleanliness, etcYou love talking bikes, gear, etc with others regardless of their level and expertise.Position QualificationsExperience with general bicycle maintenance, assembly and delivery, wheel building/truing, E-bike maintenance, personalized repair and/or parts and accessory installation as per customer specificationsWorking knowledge of modern carbon road bikes, Di2 shifting, hydraulic disc brakes, suspension, e-bikes, etc.Proficiency with common industry components like Shimano, SRAM, Fox, Rockshox, etc.Positively and joyfully engage all customers as their trusted cycling advisor and problem solver – this applies to all forms of communication, in person, email, over the phone, text, etc.Experience working in a bike shop as a technician, salesperson, or manager.Good time management, knowing how to triage multiple requests according to urgency, etc.Excellent interpersonal skillsMinimum age: 21Must have physical ability to lift 50 lbs.Current driver’s license and good driving recordResidency in San Francisco required.A sense of humorQuestions?
