Job Title: Safety Training Coordinator
Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the Training Coordinator is a supervisory position whose primary responsibility is the development, execution, and documentation of the quarry department training program.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Training and maintaining a highly skilled workforce to ensure an efficient operation, consistent with overall company objectives.
• Effectively develop and lead the quarry training initiatives at the Fort Dodge Plant
• Recognize employees’ strengths and development needs.
• Provides coaching and motivates employees on an individual basis and as a team.
• Generate a training and development plan which will provide a flexible and efficient workforce to meet increased demand.
• Perform and maintain MSHA Part 48 training for new employees, as well as Annual Refresher Training. Perform Site Specific MSHA training for all visitors.
• Maintain all training materials including – Operator rate training program, training matrix, training check sheets, essential physical requirements (EPR), visual work instructions, and MSHA New Miner, Task & Refresher Trainings.
• Maintain all USG and MSHA training documentation and ensure compliance with all federal regulations. Maintain USG Mine and Quarry Training Program standards.
• Maintain applicable safety Model Programs
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of the Mine Safety & Health Administration and the regulations pursuant to the State of Iowa.
• Certified MSHA Trainer/Blue Card Holder
• Maintain an Operator 5 status and will be used in production as necessary Competencies/Skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Able to communicate to all levels of the organization
• Capable of delivering training one-on-one and in group settings
• Able to coach employees and supervision
• Strong computer skills
• Experience with MSHA inspections

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
