Dover Precision Components is hiring a Senior Accountant for our Corporate Controllership team. In this role you will provide technical accounting expertise to the Dover Precision Components team, assess, and promote the Control Environment and do so with a Continuous Improvement mind-set to drive efficiency.

This is a hybrid position- work remotely 2 days a week (if you’d like) and onsite 3 days a week at The Woodlands location. If you’re interested in our Pearland location instead, please advise. This may be a consideration for the right candidate.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepare general ledger entries and account reconciliations, maintaining detailed records/support, providing troubleshooting, reporting, and communication cross functionally.
• Manage assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Apply technical accounting knowledge and judgement to manage special projects and represent the Accounting Department in a cross-functional environment.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes in methods and procedures to improve the efficiency of the accounting department in a continuous improvement environment.
• Assist in maintaining procedures and controls designed to comply with Dover Core Internal Controls (CIC), internal/external audits, and with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
• Build and maintain relationships with Dover Business Services team and business stakeholders, acting as an escalation point to resolve any complex discrepancies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA in process.
• 3+ years’ experience as audit associate in public accounting firm(s) or 5+ years’ experience in corporate accounting roles supporting manufacturing and/or manufactured goods’ service industries. Experience should include general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel and MS Office with additional technology strengths in ERPs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in a SOX controlled environment.
• Experience working in a matrix environment with an offshore shared service center.
• Previous external audit experience.
• Experience working with manufacturing clients and/or working at a manufacturing company.
