Senior Manager, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Policy Management
Capital One is hiring a Cyber Security Policy Management professional to join the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineering team as an individual contributor to work alongside a wide range of stakeholders, including Product and Engineering, to drive sustainable improvements in the area of Policy Management and Operations.
The candidate is expected to have a technically aligned background within Data Protection, Data Loss Prevention or Insider Threat and a proven ability to drive operational efficiency step change technology improvements at large organizations. This position’s primary focus is to drive technical and operational improvements specific for the Data Loss Prevention Policy Management team.
Bring Best in Class DLP Policy Management practices and knowledge from other large institutions to refine and implement the DLP Policy Operational Excellence Strategy
Be an innovator and lead in the identification and delivery of prioritized Policy Management improvement objectives , including but not limited to EDM/IDM
Assess, make recommendations, and lead the implementation to automate manual practices , including but not limited to an automated policy repository that is always audit ready
Provide technical guidance to team members in rule configuration and deployment
Define and implement DLP Policy Management operational and performance metrics that measure Policy Management maturity, health, and performance
Assess and make recommendations regarding current and proposed architectures, strategies, and systems for DLP Policy Management & Operations
Collaborate with Product to influence and define Policy Management priorities and implementations
Provide subject matter expertise to management, business areas, and engineering teams related for all aspects of DLP tooling and operational practices
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
At least 6 years of experience working with enterprise data protection technologies including Data Loss Protection (Proofpoint, Symantec, Trellix or Netskope), User Behavior Analytics (UBA), and SEIM or Logging solutions.
At least 5 years of direct experience developing and tuning Data Loss Prevention (DLP) system rules.
At least 3 years of experience translating cybersecurity strategy and analysis into product or service requirements and key objectives
Bachelor’s Degree or an advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Experience in regulated financial services organizations
One or more security related professional certifications: CISSP, GIAC, CISM, CCSP, CISA, CRISC,
3+ years developing search queries for knowledge engineering, data classification, ediscovery or digital forensics projects
3+ years experience with scripting and writing SQL queries
1+ years of experience working with a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB)
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain concepts to a diverse set of stakeholders.
Motivated self-starter with an ability to deliver results with minimal direction.
Demonstrated ability to build key partnerships to help expand your scope of influence, and drive efforts to conclusion.
Willing to lead by example while maintaining a continuous improvement mindset.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $230,100 – $262,700 for Sr Manager, Cyber Technical
San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $243,800 – $278,200 for Sr Manager, Cyber Technical
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
