SF Tutor for 4th grade reading & writing, in person

Swell Education, a boutique San Francisco Bay Area test prep company, seeks an expert instructor to help a 4th grade boy in reading and writing.

We are looking for a candidate who can start soon and commit through the end of the school year or beyond. This is an in person role–sessions would take place in the family home in Pacific Heights. The family would like the tutor to meet with the student 3-4 times a week.

The ideal tutor is charismatic, whip-smart, and comfortable with a high degree of autonomy.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

–Experience teaching late elementary school students (minimum 1 year)

–Experience teaching students with learning differences (ADHD and dyslexia)

–Great communication skills and the ability to engage students

–Strong work ethic and desire to drive for results

This is a part-time position: many of our instructors maintain full-time positions, explore other interests, or pursue advanced degrees concurrently.

Compensation: the pay is $40-60 per hour for tutoring depending on depth and breadth of experience.

This is a contract position; those who are already private tutors or who work elsewhere are welcome to apply.
