Overview
Under the direction of the Mgr, IT Field Services, the Sr Technician, IT Enterprise Operations will independently perform all aspects of field support including: installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of PCs and mechanical equipment in their assigned region. This individual will interact with people and develop long term relationships with their customers. The Sr Technician, IT Enterprise Operations will be the first line of contact with the end users in the field.
Responsibilities
Perform on-site servicing, repair and/or installation of hardware and software throughout assigned region
Assist customers to diagnose problems and provide resolutions for technical and service issues including end-user local-area network access problems, e-mail, Internet, and network or local printer problems
Provide one-on-one end-user problem resolution with remote desktop tools, telephone, and in- person
Diagnose and resolve desktop and laptop hardware issues
Under minimal supervision, install new IT and related equipment for new offices
Help coordinate timely support and repair on various IT equipment covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements
Manage help tickets assigned, ensuring maximum issue resolution in minimum time with the end user the main focus
Perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions
Other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in an IT environment with excellent troubleshooting skills and networking software and hardware problems
Possess a valid driver’s license
Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED) with at least two-year college level course work
Preferred
MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), A+, or Network + Certification
3-4 years of experience providing end-user phone or hands on support
Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising the quality of the work
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented, organized, process focused, problem solver, proactive, ambitious, customer service focused
Ability to draw conclusions and make independent decisions with limited information
Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other members of the business community
Self-motivated, reliable individual capable of working independently as well as part of a team
Possess the intellectual curiosity to work through ambiguity and have ability to work independently with minimal instruction
Ability to manage change and do extremely well in a fast-paced environment under time constraints
Ability to take initiative and work independently, and work effectively with individuals belonging to all levels within the organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
Ability to effectively and succinctly simplify complex data and communicate information to Senior Management
Knowledge of Windows 10, 8, 7, Windows Servers, Microsoft Office, and theories of network systems
