Job Details

The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for a growing manufacturing business. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on work across multiple accounting functions including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and backup support for AP/AR.

This is an opportunity with strong training and transition support available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and monthly close activities
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheets, bank accounts, and payroll activity
• Assist with preparation of financial statements, cash flow reports, and management reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects
• Maintain billing functions including invoices and credit memos
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Assist with payroll processing and tax-related filings
• Support internal and external audits and ensure GAAP compliance
• Track financial and operational metrics to improve business efficiency
• Identify and implement process improvements, workflows, and accounting best practices
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues as needed
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and support special projects

Qualifications:

• 1-5+ years of hands-on accounting experience preferred
• Experience with month-end close required
• Journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting experience required
• Experience in corporate accounting environments strongly preferred
• Manufacturing industry experience is a plus, but not required
• ERP experience preferred (SAP experience highly desirable)
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency required
• Understanding of GAAP and accounting controls

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required
