Real Estate Full Charge Bookkeeper (Fremont)

Accountant/Bookkeeper

Established, successful and growing property Management Company needs a full time bookkeeper. Previous experience is mandatory. Property management software experience with Propertyware, Appfolio or Yardi is helpful. Mission Property Management is a small office, with 6-10 employees and an opportunity to grow within this fast paced company. We are looking for a full time, in house bookkeeper in our Fremont office.

Principal Duties:

• Rent collection, deposit rents and process accordingly
• Pay bills, vendors, file invoices
• Reconcile sub accounts in Trust Account
• Reconcile entire trust account, comply with Dept of Real Estate (DRE) fund management processes
• Pay owners “pass through”
• Pay tenant’s deposit refunds on timely basis
• General banking, electronic wire funds transfer
• Pass through management fees from rents collected
• Utilize” Propertyware” accounting software and property management database
• Prepare and send owner statements on a monthly basis
• Maintain insurance records
• Maintain HOA records
• New client property set up in data base
• Issue year end statements to owners, 1099’s to vendors
• Review accounts for accuracy and discrepancies

Other Administrative duties:

• Answer phones, customer service
• General office filing and scanning
• Follow office procedures: confidentiality, security, key lockers, documentation, personal and private information
• Familiarize with company policies, rental process, application procedure and general property management operations

Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Positive interaction with existing and new clients is a must
• Must be a team oriented individual who also works well independently
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Individual must be self-motivated, highly detailed and organized
• Minimum of 2 years real estate, property management accounting
• Workable knowledge of Propertyware property management accounting system or similar programs
• Excellent with Microsoft office suite(Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Be familiar with fair housing guidelines
• Maintain positive attitude represent company professionally at all times
