DescriptionThis position is responsible as the primary technical resource (aluminum machining or CNC Wash) in overcoming production and/or quality problems involving materials, processes, product, equipment and tooling to ultimately increase line output and improve quality. Assist manufacturing departments in process and/or quality problems to determine basic cause. Initiate corrective action by redesigning new or altered processes, tooling, and equipment. Implement and follow up to insure changes made are effective. Assist Quality Engineering in the investigation of customer’s problems in processing our product and relate these problems to revisions of in plant processes and systems. Perform quality and/or process capability studies of equipment and processes to assist in solution of quality and/or production problems. Assure conformance to specifications and assure optimum levels of product quality and production consistent with customer requirements and plant targets. Recommend and implement ideas for reducing manufacturing costs. Assist in other engineering projects as deemed appropriate by the management team. Diagnosing and implementing permanent corrective actions to quality problems on product to eliminate the possibility of customer complaints and rejections Work with product design to review existing specifications for manufacturability PPAP, PFMEA, and Control plan support of existing and new products. Process troubleshooting and continuous improvement 8-D and A3 process troubleshooting team member Development and training of production personnel for best practices of process and machine handling Support the production floor in the critical technical areas focusing on safety, product quality, uptime, tool breakage, and KPIs. NC programming of Siemens 840D or FANUC HMI CNC controllers Solid modelling of fixture details and product/product features when needed Data analysis of process data to arrive at data driven conclusions Project Management experience a plus Excellent communication & interpersonal skills Excellent problem solving skillsQualificationsJob Requirements Basic Qualifications4 year engineering degree, or 2 year Associates Degree with 5 years related experienceStrong knowledge of CNC machining, NC programming (Siemens or Fanuc)Strong problem solving and communication skillsExperience in a high volume manufacturing environmentThe Autonomous Mobility and Safety Business Area integrates safety technologies and controls vehicle dynamics to ensure safe and comfortable driving.
