Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
• Develop project plans, including defining project scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing.
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Meet contractual conditions of performance, reviewing the work progress on a daily basis.
• Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path, tracking and reporting project milestones and deliverables.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the Construction industry, specifically with commercial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field.
• Proven track record of successfully managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
• Extensive knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
• Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• Competent in conflict and crisis management.
• Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire team members to achieve their best.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software packages.
• PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
